Depression
Depression is a mood disorder which causes an intense feeling of sadness which can interfere with one’s daily activity. Types of depression include postpartum depression, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder etc.

Symptoms of depression could include a loss of interest in hobbies or activities, difficulty sleeping or oversleeping, poor appetite or overeating, feeling of guilt, poor concentration, feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness, agitation, psychomotor retardation, and in extreme cases suicidal ideations with or without a plan. Depression can sometimes accompany anxiety symptoms such as chest palpitation, tremors, and stomach ache.
Bipolar
Bipolar is a set of disorders that falls under mood disorders such as cyclothymia, dysthymic disorder, and depression. Bipolar can be divided into Bipolar 1 and Bipolar 2. Diagnosing bipolar can sometimes be complicated with symptoms of depression, irritability, distractibility, impulsivity, poor appetite, difficulty with sleep, flights of ideas or talkativeness. Mania is more common in bipolar patients with distinct period of abnormally and persistently elevated expansive or irritable mood lasting at least one week or any duration if hospitalization is necessary.
Behavioral Issues
Behavioral disorders involve a pattern of disruptive behaviors in children that last for at least 6 months and cause problems in school, at home and in social situations
Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety disorders include a set of related mental disorders that include: Panic disorder, agoraphobia, specific phobia, social anxiety disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. Other causes of anxiety could be from cultural issues, substance abuse, etc. Symptoms could include feeling restlessness, tremors, overwhelmed feeling, irritability, and physical symptoms such as diarrhea, dizziness, palpitation, syncope, sweating, etc.
Insomnia
Insomnia consists of a group of sleep-wake disorder. It is a predominant complaint of dissatisfaction with sleep quality or quantity, associated with difficulty initiating sleep, difficulty maintaining sleep, characterized by frequent awakening or problems returning to sleep after awakening, and early morning awakening with inability to return to sleep.
Psychosis/Schizophrenia Spectrum
They are defined by abnormalities with positive symptoms of hallucinations, delusions, disorganized speech or behavior, and negative symptoms such as flat affect, avolition, loss of social interest, and attentional deficits.
Eating Disorder
These are groups of disorders that include anorexia nervosa, bulimia, rumination disorder, avoidant/restrictive food intake, and binge eating disorder. Most of these disorders are caused by the interplay of psychological, cognitive, behavioral, societal, family, and biological factors. Treatment includes using a multifocal approach involving psychotherapy and psychotropic medication.
Trauma-Stressor Related Disorder
These include disorders in which are caused by exposure to a traumatic or stressful event. Traumatic or stressful events could include violent crime, motor vehicle accidents, military combat or natural disasters. Disorders include reactive attachment disorder, post-traumatic disorder, acute stress disorder, and adjustment disorder. Treatment includes using psychotherapy such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychotropic medications.
